Daniel J. Wilson's indexed work centers on recombination-aware inference in whole bacterial genomes, most prominently the ClonalFrameML framework for efficient inference of recombination, which anchors a widely cited methodological line. Related work extends to within-host evolution of bacterial pathogens and to Bayesian inference of ancestral dates on bacterial phylogenetic trees, while a distinct thread addresses statistical methodology, including the harmonic mean p-value for combining dependent tests and identifying lineage effects while controlling for population structure in bacterial association studies. Earlier first-author work on tracing the source of campylobacteriosis and on diversifying selection under recombination reflects a sustained interest in the evolutionary and statistical foundations of pathogen genomics. Middle-author contributions to large consortia include whole-genome sequencing studies to delineate Mycobacterium tuberculosis outbreaks and to predict drug susceptibility and resistance from sequence data, alongside work on rapid antibiotic-resistance prediction for Staphylococcus aureus and M. tuberculosis; these sit within collaborations involving Ann Sarah Walker. No software, datasets, grants, or patents beyond publications are indexed. Taken together, the listed outputs trace an arc from evolutionary and statistical method development toward genomic epidemiology and resistance prediction, with a parallel strand of econometric work on taxation and mobility.
