Dana Pe’er’s computational work centers on inferring regulatory and developmental structure from high-dimensional single-cell measurements. Early Bayesian-network methods for recovering gene regulatory interactions from expression data remain her most-cited contribution, while viSNE established a widely used approach for visualizing phenotypic heterogeneity in leukemia. Her laboratory later developed Palantir and Wishbone, trajectory-inference frameworks for characterizing cell-fate probabilities and bifurcating developmental paths, and applied single-cell profiling to map diverse immune phenotypes in the breast tumor microenvironment. Beyond these lead-author works, Pe’er contributed to consortium-scale efforts including The Human Cell Atlas and to data-driven phenotypic dissection of AML linking progenitor-like cells to prognosis. Her trajectory work has involved collaborators such as Bernd Bodenmiller and Caleb A. Lareau. No software, dataset, patent, or grant outputs are indexed beyond her publications. Taken together, the through-line runs from Bayesian network reconstruction of regulatory structure to single-cell trajectory and atlas-scale methods for interpreting cellular heterogeneity in cancer and development.
