Christopher P. Austin's indexed work centers on quantitative high-throughput screening strategies for identifying biological activity in large chemical libraries, a line of inquiry that runs from assay design through to translational resources. His senior-author work on the NCGC Pharmaceutical Collection, a curated set of clinically approved drugs enabling repurposing and chemical genomics, and on the NCATS BioPlanet platform for integrated cellular signaling pathways in toxicology and systems biology, illustrate a sustained interest in building shared infrastructure for chemical genomics. Earlier first-author studies on Notch-mediated selection of retinal ganglion cells from competent progenitors and on the Knockout Mouse Project point to a complementary grounding in developmental biology and functional genomics. Later contributions include middle-author roles on organs-on-chips as alternatives to animal testing and on the promise and peril of chemical probes, reflecting engagement with the standards and reproducibility questions that shape translational research. His senior-author work on aggregation-based inhibition in large compound libraries addresses a practical pitfall in screening campaigns, and this theme connects with Brian K. Shoichet's related interests in assay interference. No software, datasets, patents, or funded grants are indexed beyond these publications, so the arc is best read through the papers themselves: from developmental genetics and receptor pharmacology toward the infrastructure and methodology of chemical genomics.
