Cheng‐Xiang Wang's indexed work centers on wireless channel modeling and the architectural evolution toward 5G and 6G networks. His most-cited lead-author contributions include a survey of sensitivity and influencing factors in metal oxide gas sensors, alongside visions, requirements, and key technologies for 6G and cellular architecture and key technologies for 5G networks, each accumulating thousands of citations. A parallel thread examines 6G wireless channel measurements and models, extending earlier surveys of 5G and vehicle-to-vehicle channel modeling. Beyond these, Wang contributed to a vision of enabling technologies and paradigm shifts for 6G and to ultra-dense cellular network architectures, both widely cited. His work also spans energy-efficient green radio techniques and wideband spectrum sensing for cognitive radio, reflecting sustained engagement with Andreas F. Molisch and Beixiong Zheng on propagation and channel themes. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond his publications. The arc moves from physical-layer sensing and channel measurement toward system-level 5G/6G design.
