Chang Yu's indexed work centers on layered double hydroxide–carbon nanohybrids for pseudocapacitors, a line of inquiry that connects several of their most-cited first-author studies. Their NiCo-LDH architectures grown directly on carbon fiber paper as binder-free water-oxidation electrocatalysts and graphene-mediated MoS2 nanosheets for triiodide reduction in dye-sensitized solar cells illustrate a consistent interest in how carbon supports and nanostructuring govern electrochemical activity. Related first-author work on nitrogen- and phosphorus-dual-doped graphene as a metal-free triiodide-reduction electrocatalyst extends this theme toward heteroatom-doped, carbon-based catalysis. Beyond these, Yu contributed as a middle author to edge site-enriched nickel–cobalt sulfide within graphene frameworks for asymmetric supercapacitors and to biomass-derived B/N co-doped carbon nanosheets for high-performance supercapacitors, both of which reflect the same materials-design logic at larger collaborative scale. Earlier first-author work on adsorptive removal of thiophenic compounds from oils using surface-modified activated carbon shows the adsorption and surface-chemistry roots of this program. No software, datasets, patents, or grants appear in the indexed record, so the visible arc runs from carbon surface chemistry through doped-carbon electrocatalysis to hybrid energy-storage materials.
