Britt Adamson's research centers on CRISPR-based functional genomics and DNA repair, with a methodological emphasis on single-cell screening. Her early work used a multiplexed single-cell CRISPR screening platform to dissect the unfolded protein response (over 1,200 citations), while a genome-wide screen identified the RNA-binding protein RBMX as a DNA-damage-response component. Later senior-author work extended this toolkit toward combinatorial single-cell screens via direct guide RNA capture and mapped the genetic landscape of DNA double-strand break repair. Beyond these, Adamson contributed as a middle author to genome-scale CRISPR interference and activation and to Perturb-Seq, foundational resources for pooled single-cell screens. Her more recent senior-author efforts include improving prime editing with an endogenous small RNA-binding protein and a benchmarked, high-efficiency prime editing platform for multiplexed dropout screening. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond her publications. Across these works, her trajectory runs from single-cell screening methodology toward refining precision editing tools.
