Barbara F. Eichhorst's indexed work centers on first-line chemoimmunotherapy strategies for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), most visibly the CLL10 trial comparing bendamustine–rituximab against fludarabine, cyclophosphamide, and rituximab in physically fit patients (627 citations), and earlier trials testing fludarabine-based regimens in younger and elderly patients that helped define who benefits from intensive frontline therapy. Her lead authorship on successive ESMO Clinical Practice Guidelines for CLL (2011 and 2020) suggests a role translating trial evidence into treatment standards, while senior-authored work addresses Richter transformation, including a pooled analysis of German CLL Study Group frontline trials and a study of R-CHOP in relapsed/refractory disease. Beyond these, she contributed as a middle author to consortium-scale studies, including the iwCLL diagnostic and response criteria (2018) and trials establishing obinutuzumab- and venetoclax-based combinations in CLL patients with coexisting conditions, alongside her later first-authored venetoclax combination trial in the New England Journal of Medicine. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond her publications. Taken together, the listed works trace a line from early chemotherapy backbone comparisons through guideline authorship to targeted-agent combinations, with Michael Hallek among her recurring collaborators.
