Andrew J. Tatem's indexed work centers on spatial demography and high-resolution population mapping, most visibly through WorldPop, an open-data platform for gridded population estimates, which he led as first author and which underpins much of his later output. Related senior-author studies apply machine learning to disaggregating census data into gridded population surfaces and use mobile phone records to capture dynamic population distributions, while his work on non-pharmaceutical interventions to contain COVID-19 in China extends these mapping approaches into epidemic response. Earlier first-author papers on global transport networks and infectious disease spread established the mobility-and-disease thread running through this portfolio. Beyond the focus list, Tatem contributed as a middle author to a synthesis of infectious disease in an era of global change and to projections of past and future spread of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, the arbovirus vectors central to dengue and Zika transmission; Nuno Rodrigues Faria appears among his indexed collaborators on related work. No software, datasets, patents, or grants beyond publications are indexed. Taken together, the named works trace a consistent line: building open, spatially explicit population and mobility data, then applying it to vector-borne and respiratory disease risk.
