A. Melchiorri’s indexed work centers on using cosmic microwave background (CMB) data to constrain fundamental physics. As last author on a highly cited 2008 study, he probed large-scale structure as a test of gravitational slip, a key signature of modified gravity. His senior-authored 2009 paper placed CMB constraints on dark matter models with large annihilation cross sections, a line of inquiry he later updated in 2011. As first author on the 2000 Boomerang flight analysis, he contributed to a measurement of Ω that helped establish a flat universe, while his senior-authored 2002 *Physics Reports* review systematically examined cosmic structure formation with topological defects. Beyond these lead-author contributions, Melchiorri was a middle author on the landmark 2000 Boomerang paper (1,600 citations) that reported a flat universe from high-resolution CMB maps, and on the 2001 MAXIMA-1/BOOMERANG/COBE joint analysis (523 citations) that refined cosmological parameters. He also co-authored the 2019 *Nature Astronomy* paper discussing Planck evidence for a closed universe and the 2017 *Physical Review D* study on interacting dark energy as a solution to the H₀ tension. Across these works, Melchiorri has consistently used CMB observations to test extensions to the standard cosmological model, from dark matter annihilation and dark energy to gravitational slip and the Hubble constant tension.
